A colleague recommended the book “Born to Run.” I gotta agree. I bet the truth is a lot murkier, but the story of crazed ultra-endurance athletes is weirdly inspiring. I have a bit of that craziness.

In spirit of recognizing things that have been broken and abandoned, I’ve deleted 72 tags from Simplenote. Simplenote.app crashes every few seconds of tag editing.

Towel. Thrown. In. Bought 6 port Photive USB charger. Moving kid devices to iCloud backup, no more iTunes sync. Will keep Emily and I on iTunes for a while. Dumping USB hub.

Weird legacies of OS X updates. A console error message on unreadable Font Collection led me to launch Font Book, turns out I have “Web-safe Mac:Windows”. I think it’s legacy from 2007 or so. Deleted it.

Parental iOS annoyance: I lock cellular settings so kids don’t burn limited data plan, but new apps default to cellular data on. So they burn the plans after installing a new game…

Just experienced one of very few iPhone crashes that needed a reboot rather than power down – on a 1yo 5s. My best guess is that a bit of Flash went bad; on restart one of my apps needed to be deleted. Hope it’s not an omen …
