@martinsteiger I’m perseverating on this topic :-). I think mass storage is the first time hardware progress has outstripped software capabilities. Storage stayed on exponential even when processing and memory flattened…

Anyone else notice Apple deprecated Favorites/Bookmarks in Maps.app for iOS 8? I miss them. Were nice little markers of places I’d visited. Happily I never trust Apple with any data I love.

@martinsteiger Yeah, that fits OS X’s well known problem with sparsebundle delete [tech.kateva.org]. The storage layer hasn’t kept up with modern mass storage devices – lack of diagnostics is just one sign. Given Apple’s Cloud strategy this may not be an Apple priority.

Used iPhoto on Mavericks for my sisters iPhone photo stream. I can see why Apple’s Photos.app strategy would make sense for her. If they are still capable of great software. I fear they are past that.

Airport Utility for Windows supports my 2014 AirPort Extrement AND my 802.11g AirPort Express. Airport Utility for iOS/Mac dropped the 802.11g. Apple’s Windows dev team are the best team in Cupertino (or wherever).

I dislike Google Maps because it keeps talking during phone calls and over Podcasts. I dislike Apple Maps because directions are mediocre and I can’t swipe to look ahead. Both could improve.
