2009 iMac (lemon!) GPU-death near. Considering no replacement. But then want maximal performance of external SSD attached to thunderbolt dock [tech.kateva.org]. In theory UASP is important, but in practice nobody seems to beat 370MB/sec. Does UASP really matter (yet)?

I now wonder if the awful performance I was getting with Time Capsule restores to my 2009 iMac was because I’d enabled Time Machine encryption. That machine may lack dedicated storage specific hardware decryption…

Used to have old time capsule extending modern AirPort Extreme. Time capsule died, AE has entire house. Works a lot better.

There’s an OLD Aperture bug that causes it to sometimes show albums as empty. Almost caused me to lose most of my holiday photos. I will likely never forgive Apple for abandoning Aperture…

The more I push my iPhone the less I believe people who claim iOS devices will replace the laptop. File system — damnit. (Google , by the way, has broken Google Drive by trying to make it behave like iCloud. WWTT?)

My iMac’s Network Preferences Advanced WiFi list of Preferred Networks includes those visited by my phone and laptop. iCloud keychain sync must bring these in. I’d file this one under “too clever, not worth it, probably unwise, may have side-effects”.

… Loving CloudPull now that created/modified date works … Spotlight is indexing Google Drive stuff that was previously just pointer to google server item. … I can archive old GD docs onto my home server… keep GD just for currently shared work.

Submitted another example of Appigo ToDo sync error. So frustrating… Of course their web site has a cookie bug with Chrome do upload initially failed, but I got it to work later.

iOS 9.0.2 did NOT fix the 9.0.1 broken cellular data use restrictions. I wonder if Apple even knows there’s a defect. Might try to file a bug report.

Something good. Click on spot in Google maps, then click coordinate link now shows details including “standard” coordinates of form: 44°56’48.3″N 93°02’20.3″W. Copy/paste coordinates into Apple Maps now works. Candle in the dark.

Bought #scrivener via StackSocial special, good thing I used my Yahoo (spam) address. Deluge of spam, multiple sources, despite trying to unsubscribe to anything at purchase time. Makes Scrivener look bad.

On a long flight I discovered my new Apple EarPods were not compatible with Air Canada airplane mini-jack. EarPod jack has 3 insulators, standard jack has 2. Can’t find anything in the Google on this. Am I only one?

Why wouldn’t Appigo ToDo Cloud show my project subtasks in Starred Task list? Because In preference for _Focus_ list I had show subtasks enabled. This product needs a lot of work.
