I emptied out a test Library, found still 1.7GB, contained hundreds of images that should have been deleted. Rebuild database indicated Aperture counted them, but they did not reappear. Aperture had major issues when it was discontinued.

Is this becoming much more common? I have’t seen a good explanation of the revenue model.

The change password process fails if keychain access is enabled. Remove iCloud and start from scratch with new credentials.

So far my wife’s iCloud email has been used to create Skype, Facebook and Instagram accounts. The instagram content was unremarkable, maybe low grade spam. Facebook is the impossible one to clean up.

If someone is using your email with their account you cannot add the address to your own account. Facebook’s documentation is wrong.

Do any of them interoperate using other than SMS?

Usually, sometimes have to open email and export as “raw message source”. Mail Raider.app will view these, but Spotlight doesn’t index contents. System viewer will show correctly. EML is RFC 822 standard (1982!), best description of current state is a .gov document. I doubt Mail.app is fully compliant, particularly with images.

Windows Mail.app will open these files, but doesn’t display inline images.

I archive key emails in project folders this way, share via Google Drive. Old feature, little known. Not the worst archival file format and easy to do and share.

My experience is not good at all. Basic functionality failing. Trusted file problem?

Is Microsoft so weak they can’t sue Amazon? The (likely) legal one ships from Amazon for $15 off the list price of $150; same listing has sellers at $105 that are probably a mix of genuine and counterfeit. MSFT sells retail version for $200, PC Connection sells OEM for $148.

Facebook calendar shows if Facebook settings are enabled; it’s not controlled in Settings. iOS Calendar.app enables the “Facebook calendar” automatically, can only be hidden there, but becomes part of local calendar collection.

It used to work without having to force-quite background apps on a 1GB RAM iPhone.

My 20yo password database has 1800 records. I added 5 new ones last week. The fever has not broken…

Photos.app on iOS has screenshot and selfie albums, but Photos.app Mac doesn’t. Not available for smart albums either. Weird gap.

Not keen on editing. Plan to disconnect full res Library from iCLoud, clean out iCloud Photo Library completely, designate new system library. Current library archived.
